It will update all firmware in your server, Bios, SmartArray, ILO, etc. Boot from the USB thumbdrive and allow it to auto update. Download the Service Pack for Proliant (v2015.04 is current) and create a USB thumbdrive. The nice thing is HP makes it really easy to update Proliant. I think this has been the root of all my problems. It's a known and acknowledged issue by HP. The HP ILO Management firmware prior to v1.51 (I think it started in v1.2) can cause pink screens in vmWare and random reboots in Windows. I ran into this issue when upgrading, fix described on the same page: Īfter that fix I had no ill effects whatsoever updating 8 D元80 vmWare hosts running G6, G7, and G8s. Mostly this info was gathered from forums and internet posts. I've updated our platform to the latest HP image which supposedly fixes most of the issues. ![]() The HP distribution of vmWare 5.5 Update 1 contains a few bugs that can cause issues. ![]() The last few weeks I've been hunting random reboots and pink screens in our environment of HP D元80G8 servers, and here's what I have found.
